Aims:

RESEARCH AIM

To explore 24/7 lone working practices, support, and educational needs of Marie Curie Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) providing palliative care in the community across the UK.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

  1. To explore HCAs experiences of lone working within clinical working hours and during the out-of-hours working period.
  2. To identify HCAs support and educational needs to aid in the provision of palliative care in the community.
  3. To make recommendations to inform the HCA role, support, and educational requirements to deliver palliative care to patients and caregivers in the community

Recruitment:

This study is funded by the Marie Curie Small Grant Scheme.

Inclusion criteria:

Healthcare assistants employed by Marie Curie since May 2020

This study is now closed to recruitment.
